FRANCE: PARIS AND BEYOND
I have been fortunate to travel to France many times over the years - usually basing myself in Paris, and then venturing forth. I'm still trying to learn French. I do pretty well with the written language, but seem to only get broken French out of my mouth. However, I do manage to bargain in pidgin French at the various flea markets I enjoy, and where I often find lovely images.
Occasionally I know what I am getting as I snap the shutter, but I'm no Henri Cartier-Bresson. So, there are a lot of surprises in my photos when I get home: an extra pleasure of travel photography. The "stage set" look of the photograph from Sarlat is a perfect example.
