HOMAGE TO ART

I love going to museums and galleries.  Of course, I am there to see the art, but I also enjoy the hunt - keeping my eye open for some apt image embodying the viewing experience, or some other congruence between the observed and observer.  I also enjoy the synergy when I see some connection between two works of art or connection between a work of art and an image I have found in the world.  The correlation between the two Japanese prints just jumped out at me when I was looking at some photos I had taken at an exhibit.  As for the "Homage To Vermeer," I happen to like taking photos through windows or screens, and noticed that there was a glow around my sister as I took her photo through a screen door, which reminded me of the light in Vermeer's portraits.
